Project Summary

Prince's Island Estates consists of 94 condominium housing units located north of the Eau Clair Y.M.C.A. and west of the Third Street Mall. This site is Calgary's premiere residential site and enjoys views of Prince's Island, the Third Street Mall, and the Bow River Valley. The project incorporates a wide variety of housing types and forms ranging from 1200 sq. ft. garden apartments on the river edge, 1000 sq. ft. three storey townhousing, and apartments/penthouse apartments up to eight storeys.

The project was developed with considerable input from several focus groups representing condominium owners and potential buyers. The focus groups demonstrated a strong desire for the use of traditional materials on the exterior, i.e. brick and stone, and for large windows. The yards, decks and large roof decks provide a significant amount of private amenity space. Porches, bay windows, and yard spaces were emphasized at all street and grade levels to provide the residents with a sense of security and to create a strong residential character within and surrounding the development.
