Project Description

This high rise office tower Calgary at a prime location had not been upgraded since the early 1980's. In a very competitive environment to maintain building occupancy and attract high quality tenants the building owners elected to contemporize the building entry and retail levels at the +15 (second level).

The owner selected our firm. Not only did we upgrade the finishes, but designed a stairwell to connect to the second level and provide much needed circulation to a future adjacent parkade through the Calgary +15 link system and to new retail opportunities at the +15 level. The new stairwell has also eased the pressure on the building elevator system.

The new finishes (including rich granites) were selected for durability and longevity and their application resulted in a very elegant, "old world" hotel appearance that is welcoming to tenants and visitors.

New lighting enhances the finishes and aura of the lobby and has contributed to reduced operating costs. A new security system throughout the building is state-of-the-art and enjoyed by the tenants.

This beautiful new lobby with its rich rose, green and black tones has received many accolades and have achieved the intended result attracting tenants who consider this building a "home" for their companies.

The careful selection of materials and prudent design detailing has also resulted maximization of the construction dollars; a successful result on time; on budget.

Completed in 1992, The Alligator Pear Restaurant is a 1500 sq. ft., 60 seat restaurant with a catering business operated from the premises. The location of the Alligator Pear on the +15 level is a very important corner of the building, the design has been tied into the base building and Quebec granite has been used throughout. Budget of $32/sq. ft.
