Karen E. Till is Associate Professor in Urban Affairs and Planning, and Government and International Affairs at Virginia Tech. Her research and creative practice explores place-making, personal and social memory, urban design, and the politics of public space, particularly in cities marked by difficult national pasts. She is author of The New Berlin: Memory, Politics, Place and the co-edited volume, Textures of Place: Rethinking Humanist Geographies, as well as numerous articles, book chapters, and exhibition catalogue essays. She is currently working on two book-length projects, Interim Space and Remnant East Berlin. |
